Morning all! Welcome to day two of my Growing in Unity (GIU) week. At the end of the week, I'll draw a name from all of the comments and that poster will win 2 Itty Bitty stamps of their choice from Unity so don't forget to comment!
Today I went in a bit different direction than I usually go- I made a few mini cards. I've been wanting to make some of these to stash in my son and husband's lunches, I just hadn't done it yet.
The first one I made two of and simply altered the color combination. I wanted to use the "Nuts and Bolts" set and it's perfect for a mini card.
While it's a bit hard to see, the paper gears and the "you're #1" are all embossed. What you really can't see, or smell, is that they're embossed with clear cherry and vanilla scented embossing powders. I thought the 4yr old would really like that.
The second card is quite a bit different. I used some leftover acetate to make a window over the fish so I could put seaweed over him without having to fussy-cut it out. Even I have limits to what I'll fussy cut!
Ingredients:
Nuts & Bolts cards:
Stamps: (Nuts & Bolts, The Best): Unity
Ink: (Encore Silver, Encore Gold): Tsukineko

Your cards are so cute! I love the gears :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the mini card with gears and the acetate layer on the fish card too! I'm with you... that's too much fussy cutting for the seaweed! Looks great on the acetate layer!

Love them both, somehow I missed that gear stamp set, no you made have to go look for it! I have trying acetate on my "To Do" list, LOL!

Beth
Wow, these are great. The nuts and bolts ones had me running to my Unity Caddy to see if I have that one...LOL! And I do! Just don't have the #1 stamp. But great idea to make the cards mini so the small stamps show up better. Also a great idea for the acetate!!! I don't blame you for not wanting to fussy cut, and you came up with quite the clever resolution!!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome job again today JenGD!
:O)
