Let's Party Cards- Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge
I picked up this great die from Papertrey Ink. I thought it might be a bit of a pain to piece but it really wasn't a big deal. I ran a tape runner over a piece of plain paper a bit smaller than the die and used it as a backer to hold the whole thing together. Yeah, a Xyron treatment would have been easier but I'd have to have one big enough and running the snail over a piece of paper smaller than 3x4 wasn't an issue. The nice thing is that one run of the die cuts pieces for 3 versions- the balloons, the background, and the edges.
These last two are simply the completed die cut pieces that I haven't mounted onto cards. I'm going to chew a bit on what to do with them before doing it. :)

The inspiration for these was this lovely challenge piece at Papertrey. I tried to stick to the colors and even a bit the general area the colors were on the piece.

And the last Valentine
I just had to use the Papertrey detective again for the hubster's card (the Unity Siracha turned into his bday card). However, I wanted to go in a different direction so I also broke out stamps from Unity and Amuse. I just don't think it would be the same without those chips. :)
I thought about layering this up a bit more with details and embellishments but I also like it simple. There's a challenge over at Papertrey to use a Maile Belles card as inspiration and while this doesn't use a lot of her brighter colors, I think the simple layering is very similar.
I'm posting this at Unity's Friends with Flair and Papercrafter's Corner.

2nd Valentine's card
Well, actually it's my 7th but in my rush to get cards in the mail, I forgot to get pictures of the 5 that had to get on the road. So. Here's the card I made for the munchkin. I LOVE this set from Papertrey Ink. SO much fun for kids. The magnifying glass paper clips inside of the card.
